You can now use your GPS and digital camera for something else than geocaching!
The goal of the project is to visit each of the latitude
and longitude integer degree intersections in the world,
and to take pictures at each location. The pictures and
stories will then be posted on the project's web site at http://www.confluence.org/.
As
of May 11, 2005, in Alberta, there are only 39 confluence points
that have been visited out of total of 63. But if you want to be
the primary
visitor to one of the remaining confluence points in Alberta, be
prepared to to pack your bags and head up North to some not so easy to
reach points!
See the Alberta page at http://www.confluence.org/region.php?id=39
The closest confluence point to Edmonton is N53 W133, which is near
Bittern Lake 27.8 Km East of Wetaskiwin. Check it out at http://www.confluence.org/confluence.php?lat=53&lon=-113
