I'm organizing a CITO event for St.Albert.
The date will be April 14th.
As I've never attended one before, how many peolpe should I anticipate? _________________

Here's a really good checklist for a successful CITO, if you haven't come across this yet:
http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=120950
Is this going to be the greater Edmonton area CITO or are others organizing a CITO too? My opinion would be to focus our efforts as a GCE community, because together we can clear out a lot more trash from one park. On the other hand, we would cover less ground, so there's a trade off there. In any event, I really like the idea of giving back by cleaning up and I intend to participate in CITO again this year. If this does end up being the only CITO in the GEA on that date, I would suggest including a 'GCE' somewhere in the title to make sure everyone feels welcome, maybe something along the lines of 'GCE CITO 2007 - St Albert'. Thanks for taking the initiative to organize this Ron1337. _________________

Of course I will make sure that ALL of the area knows and feals welcome here.
I'm working out the details with the City of St.Albert as we speak.
Thanks for the link. _________________

Hmm. I think we had around 20 people at last year's event. (It'd be more accurate to reverse-engineer a count from the logs, but maybe that's overkill.) Perhaps subtract a few for distance (to some people, St. Albert is the boonies), perhaps add a few back in because people keep joining the sport.
I'd say 15-20 people (including me!) is a good guess. _________________

VP,
If you install the firefox scipts I posted, the webpage would give you the counts.
ie.
Logged Visits ( 113 total. Visit the Gallery (78 images) )
Warning. Spoilers may be included in the descriptions or links.
Totals by log type: [Will Attend] =16 [Attended] =20 [Found Cache] =10 [Note] =64 [Published] =1 [Disabled] =1 [Archived/Unarchived] =1
Cache find counts are based on the last time the page generated.
I was hoping 20-30 people. _________________

Ah, I love the smell of GreaseMonkey in the morning!
That would count Team1337 as 1, Mr. Speedy's Parade as 1, and so on. Lots more when you count actual heads - kids, etc., but I haven't yet seen the script that could figure that out.
It looks like I undercounted, didn't I? Yeah, your number looks realistic now. Bueno!

| Any assistance to have some of the things prep, count on me until 1 Apr. After that it will be on a day by day basis. And yes I want/will try hard to participate (might be working) on the day of the event. |

Last year, Johnnygeo and Mr. Speedy took care of almost all the food...I think I contributed pickles and cheese. I wouldn't expect 1 or 2 people again to be responsible for most of the food, but thought my contribution was adequate for one person. So I suggest you derive a sign-up sheet for certain necessary food items to encourage and allow more people to contribute, which I'm sure they will.
I have to check the calendar but definitely want to participate.
And I would vote for just a single CITO event in the region. _________________ |

lol, thanks Stig, "If you make it, they will come..."
I've chosen Lion's Park, as it is very central to several park areas, plus the Sturgeon River. If the attendance gets higher than expected we can overflow into some of the neighboring areas.
Lion's Park has picnic tables, fire pits, 2 covered areas, public washrooms.
I'll make sure I have some overflow maps prineted out in the even that this occurs. _________________

I've received donations for 3 companies so far.
GPSCentral.ca
WorldCaching.com
GSAK (Clyde)
Damb, who ever wins this stuff is going to be really happy.
There are so many generous people out this.
This even is going to be great!!! _________________

The 2006 Alberta Geocoin Working Group has donated two new unactivated 2006 Alberta Wild Rose Geocoins for the upcoming CITO event in St. Albert. These geocoins are trackable on GC.com and also have a custom icon.
The event listing is below:
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=2afffd2e-ad7a-4df7-894b-68286991fc3d
This event is open to geocachers from all regions, not just St.Albert.
We need as much help as possible.
Please log if you plan on attending so I can finalize my itinerary.
I'll be listing items that I need help with soon. _________________
